No. 65, 18th February: Bumblebee and foxglove

This was one of the first photos I took after sitting my exams last June. I came across this patch of foxgloves and noticed lots of bumblebees feeding on them. It was quite a challenge to get an in-focus shot of a nicely positioned bumblebee - they tended to just zoom straight into a flower, stay hidden for a few seconds, and then zoom straight out again, leaving little time to frame and focus a shot. However, on this occasion, the bumblebee spent a fraction of a second hovering outside first!

I'm now all sold out of calendars and I'm really pleased to say that together we have raised £170 for the Bumblebee Conservation Trust - my chosen charity for this year. Thank you so much if you bought one. I hope the photos brighten each month.
