No. 55, 22nd November: River tree



Do you notice anything odd about this photo? It's actually a reflection of this tree turned upside down! I like playing around with reflections like this - I always think the water adds a beautiful dreamy texture to the photo. This was taken one morning in August. I like the way the clouds at the top of the photo frame the tree along with the floating weeds at the bottom. The other great thing about reflections is that it changes the angle at which you view objects in relation to each other - so while the tree in real life had a busy background of reeds and other trees behind it, this reflection appeared beautifully clean.


Technical details: Canon 7D MKII + 24-70mm lens at 42mm; 1/320 sec at f/5.6; ISO 640.
