No. 54, 12th November: Sweet scents

An oldie but a goldie! I took this photo when I was 13, soon after I got my first DSLR and started getting really into photography. A few months later, this photo was highly commended in the British Wildlife Photography Awards, something which really inspired me to keep going with my photography. Ever since then, taking photos has been a fairly constant part of my life.

Sometimes I would get up early and wander the hills above my house in my pyjamas. On this particular occasion, I came across two fox cubs and spent quite a long time photographing them. I was astonished at how unfazed they were by my presence. In this photo, the fox cub appears to be sniffing the air in my direction (presumably it could smell my pyjamas...!). I love its enormous ears and the texture of the fur on its neck.

I'm really pleased to say that my greeting cards have arrived! So if you've ordered some already, they will be on their way shortly (or may even already be!). This fox photo is one of the images in the set.

It was really important to me that I could find a way to keep the cards safe without using the plastic cellophane wraps that cards usually come in - so instead you'll find them carefully packaged in paper bags. If you would like some of these plastic-free greeting cards, you can buy them from my online shop, along with my 2021 calendars.
