No. 39, 14th July: Common spotted orchid

Hello!

My exams are now over and summer is here, so after a bit of a hiatus I'm keen to get back into sharing occasional photos with you all.

A few days ago I visited an incredible swathe of orchids in some local wasteland. There must have been thousands of them! I wanted to give a sense of the high density of orchids without the image being too busy, so I singled out a nice-looking orchid and used the ones in the foreground to create the hazy pinks you can see here.

Scroll down for a funny behind the scenes photo!
