This is an old photo from 2015 that I keep coming back to. It has inspired many attempts to catch other insects' shadows, but so far this one remains my favourite. I like the way this thick-legged flower beetle (yes, that is its name!) looks like it's trapped inside the blade of grass, surrounded by abstract shapes and colours.
Moments like these where everything is perfectly aligned are always fleeting, so I'm happy to have been able to catch it once.
Technical details: Canon 600D + 18-135mm lens at 135mm; 1/800 sec at f/6.3; ISO 200.
