No. 1, 24th March: Little grebe

Welcome to the first of your daily nature photos! I hope you managed to enjoy a bit of sun today while remaining quarantined.

This image was taken last year on the River Cam. I watched as a little grebe emerged from the vegetation and swam out across the water. I wanted to frame it against the shapes of the different reflections as it passed. They are such small, delicate birds; I love the way its head and body fitted perfectly inside the triangle of this tree.
